About the Role
As a Grade 2 Social Worker, you will provide evidence‑based, person‑centred care across the continuum—from emergency presentations to inpatient and community-based settings. You will apply strong clinical reasoning, advanced communication skills, and a collaborative approach to support patients, families, and carers.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred clinical social work services
Apply advanced assessment, case management, and intervention skills
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective discharge planning
Provide education to staff, students, and external stakeholders
Participate in supervision and reflective practice
Support junior staff and students through high‑quality supervision (where designated)
Requirements
Essential Criteria
Bachelor or Master of Social Work with eligibility for AASW membership
Minimum 3 years’ experience, ideally within a hospital or health care setting
Highly developed interpersonal, written, and electronic communication skills
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Current Working with Children Check
Desirable
AASW CPE accreditation
Victorian Driver Licence
